Team Ordinary Athlete: Gallegos, Sarah

Why I Started Running:

I began running in 2013 after being told by a fertility doctor that if I “lost 40 pounds, chances would improve.” I started with walking, and then slowly became an interval runner. I was hooked!

My Favorite Moments / Biggest Achievements:

I have a few “favorite moments” that include- being chosen to represent TWO major marathons in 2019 (Colfax Marathon- Denver, CO and Garmin Marathon- Olathe, KS). I was also chosen to represent RACE WALKERS for a local running store. My biggest accomplishment by far: completing a MARATHON!! Proving once again- ANY ONE CAN DO IT!

Future Goals:

My future is a little cloudy right now. I’m still recovering from my marathon high, planning a cross-country move from Colorado to Virginia in the next few months, and a wedding in 2020. I would love to do more marathons, and even do a 50k once settled on the east coast. I turn 40 next year, and am making the year of BIG changes. Each race and run comes when my body allows it, and let’s see what happens!
